Guess who gets to open for Daryle Singletary tomorrow night in Las Vegas?!? If you are going to be in Las Vegas for National Finals Rodeo, come out to the Mirage for dancing and a concert on Thurs 12/12/13 at 9pm.

So excited to be in Vegas during NFR and thankful to get a chance to DJ before this concert. Big thanks to my buddy DJ Caffine!

Country Axis in Santa Clara - CLOSED

I want to THANK everyone who came out to support the Grand Opening and the following Thursday nights that we taught lessons and DJed at Country Axis! Unfortunately, after only a little over a month, they decided to cancel Country Axis Thursday nights. It takes quite a few bodies coming in the door to keep a club of that size open on a weekly basis, and the numbers just didn't support a Thursday country night during their opening month. Quite a few factors go into that including other closely timed country events, but I want to thank each of you who did come out to dance, to have fun and to support country in the South Bay.

At some point in the future, they might come back with another plan for country, but for now they are discontinuing Country Axis on Thursday nights.

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2013

This is the 3rd year that I am walking in the San Francisco Avon Walk for Breast Cancer with Team KRTY, and not only am I seeking donations, but I'm also donating 25% from every gig booked before the walk (September 28-29, 2013) to the cause as well. Your event does NOT have to be by that date, it just needs to be booked and have a deposit made.

Dancin on the Avenue 2011

Dancin on the Avenue is coming up on Saturday June 25th, 2011! We are going to be teaching line dancing at Dancin on the Avenue 2011 for the 3rd year runnning!

There are going to be two lessons: 1st Lesson - 530p 2nd Lesson - 630p

Even if you don't want to dance, come say hi if you're at the event!

It is a one day intense, high-energy event that is short in duration but yields equivalent results that many 2 or 3 day festivals offer. This long running street festival draws over 35,000 people to downtown Willow Glen and it was voted the 2008 BEST COMMUNITY EVENT by readers of the WG Resident.

Open Call for Line Dancers!

  ANNOUNCEMENT: Alan Jackson & GE are sponsoring a contest in which people make a music video that includes the song/line dance "Good Time."

UPDATE: The video is done. PLEASE vote for us DAILY till 4/15. :)

I am gathering people who want to be part of our video and line dance. You don't need to know the dance already. We will be filming in SF at various locations.

Filming Date: Saturday March 26th in San Francisco. The event will most likely start in late morning, but exact time and Location to be announced in the NEXT newsletter. Join mailing list to get info for the event. (if you didn't get to this page from the newsletter already)

KRTY Radio: I Can Sleep When I'm Dead!

Yes, I am still alive! And yes, this blog still exists! Since writing herelast, I have practiced on KRTY a few more times and forgot to let y'all know here. Apologies for that. Some of you were listening, requesting songs and staying up past your bedtimes, and for that I thank you!

While staying up past most people's bedtime and practicing the skills of  a radio DJ are fun and exciting, I must take a break from those activities to focus on some other things in life, such as paying the bills. I know, I know, that sounds really old and boring and "I can sleep when I'm dead." Some of the things that will be getting more of my attention are CPR classes in San Jose and Ask4Adam.com (where a new site will soon exist).

Before anyone gets any ideas, I'm still with KRTY in event marketing and social media, and there will hopefully be some new and exciting things in that arena, but for now, I am taking a break from learning to be a radio DJ. I am eternally grateful to our Program Director for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow in my radio career.

My hope is that you stick with me on this blog and hear some other tales of intrigue and mystery...or at least some good country fun!

Yes, that's right! The KRTY Secret Sound is coming back on Tuesday right after Labor Day! Check out the details here! In addition the the KRTY Secret Sound starting up, I will be on air again that night! Stay up late on 9/7 because I will be off the dance floor and onto your radio when the clock strikes midnight on 9/8.

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to everyone who has stayed up (or just turned on the station while counting sheep) to hear me introduce songs on KRTY!

Hopefully, I'm starting to sound like a regular DJ on air, because  that's my goal, to be a fill in DJ at more reasonable hours.

Three Nights Down!

So tonight I completed my third night on the radio. It's pretty exciting and I'm pleased to announce that it is getting slightly easier each time I talk on air.
